Thanks for all the birthday wishes! This fab cake was so fun to make with neon food coloring! The kids love using cake beaters, squirting food coloring and watching the colors come to life when you mix it into the white frosting. The best part is cutting the first slice to reveal how good of a job you really did layering the colored batter. I saw this in Family Fun magazine, they always have such awesome ideas. To top it off we searched the bulk section and finally found gold coins. What's a rainbow without a pot of gold? So while I am at it, Happy St. Patty's day too.

The latest

I had such a great weekend and I do not normally say that. It snowed like mad and the kids had a blast playing in the mounds of new snow. USA lost the big hockey game to Canada in OT. Good for them though, Canada won in Canada. Congats ( they are our fifty first state anyway right?) I made an awesome new Moraccan like chicken recipe. The house smelled so good. Something totally different from your usual chicken dishes. I do think it would have been good with chicken breast too if you do not like thighs. Also, hard to find ingredient currants you can find in the bulk section of Weggos. For the couscous I used pearl couscous from Far East in garlic and olive oil flavor. I never eat couscous. Excellent! I highly recommend this very impressive and romantic dish, now all we need is some romance right? ;) The dish is called Salsa Couscous Chicken, give it a whirl.

Saturday night we rented The Water Horse. I would have never picked this out myself, however I loved it and I think I watched it four or five times. Unbelievable, I know, I sat still for that long! A must see.

On Sunday I took Cooper and Sophia, two of my human children to a Boston Terrier meet up with our beloved BTs Maggie and MacDougal. We had a blast, so much fun, met new friends and cannot wait for the next meet up. I love bostons more than ever now, Im so sold on the breed! (I know Im crazy.)

I am feeling better. I think My shingles fiasco is finally over after six weeks. It is wonderful not having to take pain killers, having energy again, and just feeling normal. I love it! Now if I could only get into P90X shape.

I usually try to unplug a little bit more during the weekends but Sunday night I cannot miss Big Love, this season is incredible. I am so excited to watch the Bachelor tonight. I never thought I would get sucked into the black hole of the bachelor, but I did. I love good tube!

Great weekend, clean house, laundry up to par, if only it stayed that way for more than five minutes. Back to work. wubba wubba wubba.

The itch is back (a good itch)

Oh I am so excited for spring! The kids and I just visited the George Eastman House. Right now the Dutch Connection exhibit is running. The rooms filled with flowers were so lovely and the smells were so fresh and exquisite. My son asks everyday, "how many more days till summer?" We are without question, not winter people. Last year we had such a great time growing squash, peas, and our favorite flower morning glories! Sun flowers sprouted in weird places because the little guy must have taken seeds without me knowing. All of the sudden there would be giant sunflowers growing out from the basement window wells and right through the rhododendrons. It was hilarious, almost as bad as the year when I grew gourds. Thats a whole other catastrophe. The kids and I have yet to plan or not plan this upcoming seasons gardening however, the anticipation is half the fun. We planted about a hundred new bulbs in the front yard by the huge bear carving, I cannot wait to post that picture when it comes. Stay tuned. Spring is just around the corner.

Tiger Woods is going to come out of his silence tomorrow. I think if I were like him, talented and wealthy I would be perfectly happy and have no problems. Would fame and fortune really make my life perfect? Back to Tiger, (by the way, always loved the name) I always thought that he had it made in the shade. Talent like nobody's business, a beautiful wife and family, and everyone loves him. Tiger was always on top of his game and none of us had a clue what was actually going on. All of his personal liaisons and unspeakable scandalous behavior were just a cover up for matters he himself were not taking control of. Even the great Tiger Woods has inadequate feelings, insecurities and made poor decisions. Does that make Tiger human? Does that make Tiger forgivable? It will be interesting to see the response from is colleagues, friends, family and the big one, Elin. I hope that Tiger gets his life in order. It sounds like there is an inner conflict that Tiger needs to sort out. I also hope that he can sincerely apologize, get the help that he and his family needs and start going down a more productive and rewarding path. Good luck Tiger, I am still very disappointed but it would be gratifying to see some one who has hit rock bottom rise to the stars again.

I wish shingles were just for roofers

In January I was diagnosed with the shingles. I am still suffering but I refuse to be sick any longer. I am so sick of being sick. I am in total denial that I am still run down with this stupid decrepitude. I have been trapped in my house, bored to death. I've ended up mixing old cans of paint creating new colors and painting two rooms. They actually look great, I m glad that the projects are done and now I don't have those old cans of paint laying around. The pain killers are pleasant too, they really take the edge off. I never thought it would be so hard to relax. That is what the Doc said I need to do to get better. Im just starting to get the hang of it. Thanks everyone for your well wishes and also for putting up with me.

Precious Moment (second title was; Im too old for this s*@#!!)

So the baby woke up from her nap and we had enough time for me to feed her before picking up number two, I mean Cooper. So While walking downstairs I noticed the dog sleeping heavenly in the warm sunshine. I touched her fur and it was so hot. She was so cozy. I just couldnt help myself, I had to be next to her and breast feed the bambino. So, Im sitting there having this awesome mommy moment. My beautiful strawberry blonde hair glistening in the warm sunlight coming through the window. The love of the beautiful child, the calm, wait...wait, wait a minute... Do I smell poop? So now is the part where I fast forward. Lets just say I had to go upstairs and change BOTH of our outfits. You know, sometimes when your having a good time, shit happens. Thats life!

A trip down memory lane

Lately my great grandmother has been on my mind along with many fond memories from when I was an itsy bitsy kid. When I was younger, my great grandma spent lots of family time with us and seemed to always bring us candy. There was tons of excitement when my brother and I knew great grandma was coming over. My favorite treat she brought was the chocolate cigarettes, from I think Fanny Farmers, they even came in the cutest little plastic cigarette case. I guess it wouldn't be as special if I could just run out and get it myself but I wish I could just to have my great grandmother and those chocolates back for just a second. They don't make em anymore. Thank God! I remember puffin on them and pretending I was so cool. Nowadays I would never give my kids candy that resembled a cigarette. I hardly even give them candy period. Times are sure different. The thing is, I am so glad to have these captured moments come sprinkling back to my mind. Sadly these moments cannot be duplicated, but that's what makes them so dear. Funny, I bet my great grandmother never thought giving me chocolate cigarettes would ever leave such a lasting feeling of being loved and a reminder of such an awesome childhood. What are your favorite memories from your childhood?

Busy bee

So the first year has nearly past and now Audrey is into new things. The dishwasher, the dog food, the cupboard, the dogs cages, you name it. This chic is on the move!

Baby Beans

The best moments of my life were giving birth to my three children. This Saturday the caboose, Audrey will be one. The past year swept by me so fast like sand falling through my fingers. Then sometimes I think of all the hard work I have done and all the love I have given this dear child. I am the luckiest mom ever, even if she says dada and still won't say mama.
